RATES: £12.81 per hour

LOCATION: Gwalchmai (LL65)

JOB ROLE: Refuse Collector

SHIFTS: Monday to Friday

SHIFT TIMES: 06:00 – 15:00

REQUIRMENTS:

  • Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently as part of a crew.
  • Previous waste collection or manual labour experience may be beneficial but is often not essential.

DUTIES:

  • Collecting household, commercial, and recyclable waste from designated routes.
  • Loading waste and recycling materials onto collection vehicles.
  • Emptying bins, wheelie bins, and waste containers safely.
  • Returning bins to their correct locations after collection.
  • Assisting the driver with route navigation and vehicle manoeuvring when required.
  • Identifying and reporting hazardous waste, damaged bins, or collection issues.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in collection areas and helping prevent litter during collections.
  • Using personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.
