We are seeking skilled and motivated Electrical Engineers to join our team, supporting the installation, servicing, and maintenance of one of the UK’s largest Solar PV and EV charging networks. This is an exciting opportunity for electricians who are passionate about renewable energy technologies and want to develop specialist expertise at the forefront of the Solar PV and EV revolution. The role involves working on commercial and industrial projects within the automotive sector and other industries. This position requires travel to remote sites across the UK, including overnight stays, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Carry out installation of containment systems, including:
    • Cable tray
    • Basket
    • Box trunking
    • Unistrut
    • Ducting
  • Install panel boards and distribution boards ranging from 125A to 800A.
  • Install cabling systems from 6mm singles up to 300mm 4-core SWA/AWA and above.
  • Install commercial Solar PV systems, including:
    • Solar panels
    • Mounting systems
    • Inverters
    • Isolators
    • Metering equipment
  • Conduct full electrical testing and inspection of installed systems.
  • Produce and complete all required certification and documentation.
  • Ensure all work complies with BS7671 Wiring Regulations and relevant health & safety standards.
  • Diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues, and carry out repairs efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers, tradespeople, and project teams to complete installations on schedule.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
  • Deliver high standards of customer service at all times.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations
  • IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations Certification
  • ECS Gold Card
  • 2391 Inspection & Testing Qualification
  • Full UK Driving Licence (maximum 6 penalty points)
  • Strong IT literacy skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and installation practices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in the use of electrical hand tools and power tools

Desirable Qualifications

  • Level 3 Award in Installation & Commissioning of EV Charging Equipment
  • Level 3 Award in Installation and Maintenance of Small Solar Photovoltaic Systems
  • Level 3 Award in the Design, Installation and Commissioning of Electrical Energy Storage Systems
