About the Role:
We are partnering on a major UK transmission infrastructure project in North Wales and seeking an experienced TP141 Lead Commissioning Engineer for remote-end commissioning on a live National Grid scheme. This is a critical role involving hands-on responsibility for remote switching, testing, and energisation activities to ensure the safe and efficient operation of transmission assets.
You will work closely with National Grid control and site teams to coordinate protection and control interface activities, ensuring compliance with all technical and safety standards throughout the commissioning phase.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform remote-end switching, testing, and energisation of National Grid transmission assets
- Coordinate protection and control interface activities with multidisciplinary teams
- Liaise effectively with National Grid control room and site personnel to facilitate smooth commissioning processes
- Provide technical expertise to identify and resolve any commissioning issues promptly
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards during all activities
Essential Requirements:
- Valid TP141 Authorisation
- Proven experience in remote-end commissioning on National Grid Transmission Assets
- Strong understanding of protection and control systems within power transmission environments
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during 10-hour working days
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate with control teams and site engineers
