Role Overview
The Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer will provide technical support to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all site equipment, utilities, and infrastructure. The role encompasses preventive and predictive maintenance, breakdown response, project support, and continuous improvement activity within a fast-moving industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimise planned preventive and predictive maintenance schedules across electrical and mechanical assets.
- Diagnose and rectify equipment faults to minimise operational downtime and restore functionality in line with safety standards.
- Coordinate external contractors and specialist service providers for inspections, repairs, and engineering works.
- Manage spare parts, materials, and consumables to maintain optimum stock levels and reduce maintenance overheads.
- Maintain and support site infrastructure systems, including security systems, utilities, and waste-handling equipment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, reliability improvements, and optimisation of engineering processes.
- Lead small engineering projects and provide technical input and supervision for larger capital or maintenance projects.
- Ensure compliance with site safety procedures, permits to work, and statutory engineering requirements.
Candidate Profile
- Multi-skilled engineer with a strong electrical or electro-mechanical background.
- Experience working with safe systems of work, risk assessments, and permit-to-work processes.
- Industrial or manufacturing experience preferred; familiarity with plumbing systems, compressed air plant, industrial ovens, or related equipment is advantageous.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability across electrical and mechanical systems.
- Proactive, safety-driven approach with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- IOSH / NEBOSH certification desirable (or willingness to undertake training).
