Integra are supporting a leading Independent Connection Provider (ICP) specialising in the installation, testing and commissioning of high-voltage electrical infrastructure up to 400kV. Delivering complex substation, BESS and renewable energy projects, including supergrid transformer installations, across the UK.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the on-site delivery of HV substation, BESS and supergrid transformer projects, ensuring works are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with programme, quality, and regulatory requirements. This role requires regular UK-wide travel to support projects at different stages of delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day site operations on HV substation, BESS and supergrid transformer installations
- Coordinate site activities including civil interfaces, transformer delivery, rigging, installation and energisation readiness
- Ensure all works comply with CDM 2015, HVSS procedures, and client standards
- Lead site inductions, toolbox talks, daily briefings and permit-to-work activities
- Oversee subcontractors, direct labour and specialist HV contractors
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved RAMS, programmes and quality plans
- Liaise closely with Project Managers, Engineers, HSE and Commissioning teams
- Monitor progress, manage site constraints, and report on milestones and risks
- Maintain accurate site records, permits, inspections and as-built documentation
- Act as the primary on-site interface with clients, DNOs, IDNOs, inspectors and suppliers
- Support testing, commissioning, and final handover activities
- Drive a strong safety culture and lead by example on all HV works
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on HV electrical infrastructure projects
- Strong background in HV substations, BESS projects and/or supergrid transformer installations
- Experience working within ICP or EPC delivery environments
- Solid understanding of HV construction activities, including transformer install, gantries, switchgear and primary plant
- Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations, RAMS and permit-to-work systems
- SMSTS (essential)
- Willingness to travel and work across UK project locations
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience working up to 132kV / 275kV / 400kV
- DNO / IDNO interface experience
- HV Authorisations (where applicable)
- Temporary Works Coordinator / Supervisor
