We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in schools across Manchester. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, proactive, and passionate about helping children and young people thrive both academically and emotionally.

You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties, in either one-to-one or small group settings. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN
  • Support pupils with engagement, emotional regulation and behaviour
  • Assist with adapting learning materials to suit individual needs
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school-based or transferable experience welcomed)
  • Patient, calm, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Willingness to learn, develop and upskill in SEND support
  • Understanding that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility
  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
