Location Harrow Ontario Department DEPTEC The Opportunity The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in improving production efficiency quality and capacity This hands on role requires time on the manufacturing floor working directly with production staff to implement best practices troubleshooting issues including continuous improvement related to current and new product introduction
What you will do
Develop and optimize manufacturing process techniques capital equipment and workflow to enhance productivity and qualityWork with production staff to identify best manufacturing practices utilizing Lean Six Sigma reducing variation and eliminating wasteInvestigate industrys best practices and emerging technologies and enhance our manufacturing methods by developing a roadmap and priority initiatives to implementUtilize data and compile reports to assess effectiveness of manufacturing procedureEnsure the production team is assembling the product accurately as designed Actively participates within the ECR process to ensure all changes are documented prior to implementationMay develop standard work and provide training of staff on new techniques or manufacturing improvements and overseeing installation of capital equipmentAssist in reducing the occurrence of manufacturing errors Have a hands on approach combined with a strategic mindset
Required Qualifications
- Capable of working under minimal supervision and prioritizes tasks to take the appropriate action
- Thorough knowledge of the production facility and current processes
- Excellent coordination skills to enable cooperation with technical staff production staff and Management
- Efficient problem solving skills
- Effective communication and reporting skills to Management to evaluate risk and reward with developments including recommendations to procure capital equipment
Technical education MechanicalIndustrial Engineering degree
