We are partnered on an exclusive basis with a leading consultancy that is embarking on a transformation journey and seeking a Head of Technical to take ownership of technology strategy, technical governance and architecture across a growing technology services organisation located in Kent.
This is a senior leadership position requiring someone who can operate as the organisation's Technical Authority, setting technical direction and ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, commercially viable and aligned with both customer and business strategy.
A major focus will be the continued development of the organisation's Cloud, Modern Workplace and Infrastructure strategy, particularly across Microsoft Azure public cloud, private cloud and hybrid cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the senior Technical Authority, providing governance across architecture, cloud, infrastructure and Modern Workplace solutions.
- Define and evolve the overall technology strategy, technical roadmap and architectural standards.
- Lead the technical direction across Azure public cloud, private cloud, hybrid infrastructure and datacentre services.
- Provide strategic oversight of the Microsoft technology estate including Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
- Shape the organisation's Modern Workplace strategy, covering identity, endpoint management, collaboration, virtual desktop and secure access.
- Define standards and reference architectures across cloud migration, modernisation, virtualisation, networking, resilience and security.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities across Cloud, AI, Copilot, automation and digital transformation.
- Ensure technical solutions follow secure-by-design and Zero Trust principles.
- Work closely with senior leadership, customers and commercial teams to ensure technology decisions support long-term business and customer objectives.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and direction to technical managers, architects and subject matter experts.
- Support strategic customer engagements, complex solution design, proposals and technical presentations.
