Work for one of the largest test and approval companies in the world as a product Test Engineer within their fire detection products division. You will be part of the Product Certification team and be a vital part of this influential, standard setting business. Based in North London, this position is paying £26,000 - £34,000 plus benefits.
As a Test Engineer, you will be testing electronic security products in a controlled environment conducting vibration, thermal, shock, pressure, temperature, environmental, fatigue testing. It is important for the Test Engineer to log all test results and report your findings to identify and resolve any technical issues. The Electronic Test Engineer will be required to work to pre-designed laboratory test procedures to ensure high technical standards and quality of services are met.
Working in a methodical approach, you will be required to have excellent communication and customer service skills as you will be liaising with internal certification engineers and customers with recommendations on your findings to help improve client products.
What we’re looking for:
- Ideally but not essential, previous experience working with or for a certification body or test house conducting type testing or evaluating electronic products, ideally electronic or electrical equipment.
- You will have experience in performing controlled, environmental testing such as vibration, shock, humidity, stress, climate and fatigue.
- You will have a background with good solid product testing knowledge working to EU, ISO and UK standards.
- Educated to HNC level and above in a relevant electronic, mechanical or engineering qualification.
- Proficient communicator and attention detailed process tester able to work closely with manager, internal engineers and clients.
- Have high attention to detail and report writing.
