A global Investment Banking organization are searching for an experienced Head of Cloud to join the business at Director level – defining and executing a global multi-cloud strategy.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Define and execute a global multi-cloud strategy (AWS, Azure, Oracle), aligned to business and regulatory objectives
- Lead, develop and scale a team of cloud engineers and SMEs, embedding a product-led, reusable infrastructure model
- Own cloud architecture, roadmap, and service offerings across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS, ensuring scalability, resilience and security
- Act as senior cloud SME, partnering with global stakeholders, architecture forums, and vendors
- Drive cloud adoption and transformation, reducing legacy estate, enabling AI capabilities, and improving efficiency
- Lead large-scale cloud implementations, migrations, and proof-of-concepts across hybrid environments
- Own cloud operations including platform health, performance, capacity planning, incident management and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, risk and security frameworks (e.g. cyber, DORA), embedding controls and best practices
- Manage cloud financials including budgeting, cost optimisation, vendor management and ROI tracking
- Build strong relationships with business units to promote cloud-first strategies and support strategic objectives
- Oversee service readiness, communication, and successful launch of cloud products and capabilities
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience leading enterprise cloud engineering teams within Financial Services
- Strong multi-cloud expertise across AWS, Azure, and Oracle Cloud
- Deep knowledge of cloud architecture, engineering, and Infrastructure as Code
- Experience delivering complex, large-scale cloud transformation and migration programmes
- Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, networking, and hybrid architectures
- Experience with containers and modern platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
- Solid grounding in DevOps, CI/CD, Agile delivery, and automation practices
- Experience managing cloud cost, governance, and vendor relationships
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement at C-level
- Scripting/automation experience (e.g. Python, PowerShell) and tooling such as GitHub
- Understanding of AI/cloud integration and modern data platforms is beneficial
Package:
- £140,000 - £160,000 Basic Salary
