Job Description
Service Delivery Engineer – 24/7
Opportunity:
Our trusted partner, a highly reputable cloud solutions provider is hiring a 2nd/3rd line Service Delivery Engineer who is happy to work a varied shift pattern, Monday to Thursday which will involve some night shifts. The chosen candidate must have a background in 2nd/3rd line support gaining exposure to the following, Office 365, Microsoft Azure, Active Directory and Networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP) to be based in Sittingbourne paying up to £45,000 per annum.
The shift patterns are Monday to Thursday between 8am to 8pm and rotates between days / nights with Friday, Saturday and Sunday off.
You will be a good communicator, technical proficient and be able to provide strategic guidance to clients regarding technology and IT infrastructures and will enable major business process to change through enhancements to clients IT. You may also be called upon to provide guidance and technical expertise during design, selection, implementation, as well as technology selection.
Responsibilities:
- Engaging with clients to determine their technology requirements
- Working with clients to deliver projects to a defined scope, quality, cost and timescale for outcome success.
- Clarifying client system specifications, understanding working practices and the nature of the customers’ business.
- Working at customer sites, liaising with staff at all levels within their organisation – good stakeholder management is therefore a pre-requisite.
- Developing new technologies and then implementing these.
- Presenting solutions in clear and consistent written or oral reports using Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Designing, testing, installing and monitoring systems during the Project phase
- Preparing documentation and presenting progress reports to customers following implementation.
The candidate will be technically proficient in the following areas:
- Microsoft technologies, including Office 365 Cloud, Exchange Online and SQL; experience of designing and implementing MS Azure / AWS would be advantageous
- Azure AD, Intune, Power Apps is a nice to have
- Server Operating Systems, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy
- Virtualization technologies including Hyper-V or VMware
- Network hardware including Routers, Firewall, Switches, Wi-Fi (Vendor Neutral)
- Storage including SAN, NAS, SCSI, iSCSI and Fibre Channel
- Mobile Device Management, Security products
- Backup and DR technologies with a strong understanding of BCP.
