The Senior Network Security Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of secure network solutions, combining project delivery with senior-level operational support. You will work across firewall platforms, routing, switching, and WAN technologies, acting as a technical escalation point while also contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers strong exposure to modern security technologies and the opportunity to work closely with customers and internal delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support secure, scalable network infrastructure with integrated firewall solutions
- Act as a senior technical escalation point for complex network and security incidents across routing, switching, and firewall domains
- Deploy and manage enterprise routing and switching environments (including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, MPLS) alongside Fortinet firewalls, VPNs, and SD-WAN solutions
- Lead on network architecture, segmentation, and performance optimisation across customer environments
- Deliver network and security projects end-to-end, ensuring alignment with agreed timelines and quality standards
- Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including low-level designs and network diagrams
- Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and third-party vendors throughout project delivery and support lifecycle
- Participate in on-call or out-of-hours support when required
Skills & Experience
- Strong experience as a Network Engineer / Network Security Engineer within an MSP, MSSP, or complex enterprise environment
- CCNP-level knowledge or equivalent hands-on experience in Cisco routing and switching
- Solid experience with routing protocols and technologies (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, MPLS, IP addressing)
- Hands-on experience with Fortinet firewall technologies (configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting)
- Proven track record delivering complex network solutions end-to-end (routing, switching, and security)
- Strong troubleshooting capability across Layer 2–7, with a network-first mindset
- Comfortable working in customer-facing environments, translating technical concepts into business outcomes
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills
