We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a Networks & Infrastructure team within an established organisation operating in the energy sector. This is a hands-on role focused on the delivery, operation, and evolution of a complex on-premise and cloud-integrated infrastructure estate. You will work closely with a small, highly skilled team, contributing to infrastructure design, transformation projects, and day-to-day operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate as part of a small team of Network & Infrastructure Engineers, providing senior-level technical input
- Deliver infrastructure implementation, maintenance, and operational support across the estate
- Lead and contribute to infrastructure replacement, upgrade, and refresh initiatives
- Design scalable, resilient infrastructure solutions aligned with business requirements
- Support virtualisation, cloud, and endpoint management platforms
- Act as an escalation point for complex infrastructure issues
- Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation and standards
Skills & Experience
- Deep technical knowledge of VMware 8 (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi) and enterprise VDI platforms such as VMware Horizon, Citrix, or OLVM
- Proven experience managing complex SCCM environments, including CMG, application packaging, OS deployment, and multi-site replication over WAN links
- Strong expertise across the Microsoft stack, including Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, NPS (RADIUS), Certificate Authorities, SMTP relays, and PowerShell automation
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS & PaaS), Microsoft 365 E5, Entra ID (Azure AD), Azure MDM, and Windows Autopilot
- Hands-on experience with enterprise server, storage, and endpoint hardware, including Dell and HPE platforms and physical tape libraries
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, and infrastructure monitoring using Zabbix
- Expertise in enterprise backup solutions, specifically Veeam Backup & Replication
Up to £75,000 per annum base salary. Private medical insurance.
