Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to join a leading consultancy on a 24-month contract. You will drive the design, governance, and delivery of enterprise-wide data architecture, ensuring data assets are resilient, scalable, and aligned with business and regulatory requirements. You will work with cross-functional teams to define future-state data capabilities, integrate systems, and support data governance initiatives that enable strategic organisational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain enterprise-level conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Define and evolve enterprise data architecture standards, principles, patterns, and best practices
- Collaborate with product teams and solution architects to design integrated, end-to-end data flows
- Maintain enterprise data dictionaries, taxonomies, and metadata repositories
- Perform oversight and quality assurance on data architecture artefacts and reverse-engineered data structures
- Provide data architecture input into enterprise and solution architecture to ensure consistent outcomes across programmes
Skills and Experience
- Hands-on experience in enterprise-level data modelling using tools such as Erwin, Solidatus, Safyr, ABACUS, or Archi
- Strong analytical, logical, and lateral thinking skills to solve complex data challenges
- Knowledge of relational, dimensional, and enterprise modelling concepts, including cloud and big data environments
- Experience with SQL, data analytics platforms, APIs, and database technologies
- Familiarity with Software Delivery Lifecycle (Agile and Waterfall) and software engineering principles
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage technical and non-technical senior stakeholders
