A leading financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) Subject Matter Expert to take ownership of the day-to-day support, administration and configuration of its D365 F&O platform.

This is a hands-on role acting as the key internal SME for D365 F&O, supporting users across Finance and Operations, managing system configuration, resolving functional issues and working with internal technology teams and third-party partners to ensure the platform remains stable, effective and aligned with business requirements.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Act as the internal Subject Matter Expert for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
  • Provide day-to-day functional support to Finance, Operations and wider business users.
  • Administer and maintain the D365 F&O platform, including system configuration and user setup.
  • Configure D365 F&O functionality in response to changing business requirements.
  • Troubleshoot functional issues and manage incidents through to resolution.
  • Manage user access, roles, permissions and security configuration.
  • Support system updates, releases, patches and platform maintenance.
  • Work closely with Microsoft partners and third-party suppliers to resolve technical and functional issues.
  • Support testing and UAT for system changes, fixes and enhancements.
  • Maintain system documentation, configuration records and user guidance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve system usability, processes and platform performance.
  • Provide guidance and support to users to improve adoption and effective use of D365 F&O.
  • Strong hands-on experience supporting and administering Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
  • Experience working as a D365 F&O SME, Functional Consultant, Application Support Consultant or D365 Administrator.
  • Strong experience configuring D365 F&O functionality.
  • Proven experience providing functional application support and resolving user issues.
  • Experience managing users, roles, permissions and security within D365 F&O.
  • Good understanding of Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain and/or Operations modules.
  • Experience supporting upgrades, releases, testing and system enhancements.
  • Ability to investigate issues and work effectively with technical teams and third-party partners.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working as the internal go-to person for D365 F&O.
  • Experience within Financial Services or another highly regulated environment.
  • Exposure to One Stream, Hyperion or other financial consolidation/EPM platforms.
  • Experience with Power BI and financial reporting solutions.
  • Knowledge of integrations, APIs and data flows between D365 F&O and other platforms.
  • Microsoft Dynamics certifications.
  • Finance or accounting knowledge or qualifications such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
