SOC Lead - Microsoft Partner - London or Southampton (Hybrid) - Up to £80,000 + Benefits

Are you an experienced SOC professional ready to lead a high-performing Security Operations Centre within a growing Managed Security Services environment?

We're looking for an experienced SOC Lead to take ownership of Security Operations, leading a team of SOC Analysts while remaining hands-on with incident response, security tooling and continuous service improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in shaping and developing a modern SOC function within a growing cybersecurity business.

The Role

As SOC Lead, you'll oversee the day-to-day running of the Security Operations Centre, ensuring customers receive a first-class managed security service.

You'll act as the technical escalation point for complex security incidents, drive operational excellence and work closely with engineering teams to enhance the SOC platform through automation and innovation.

You'll also be responsible for onboarding new customers, refining detection capabilities and helping mature the SOC into a proactive, intelligence-led operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of 1st and 2nd Line SOC Analysts
  • Act as the senior escalation point for high-priority security incidents
  • Own and improve incident response processes, playbooks and operational procedures
  • Manage and optimise SIEM, SOAR, EDR and wider SOC tooling
  • Work alongside engineering teams to improve platform performance and automation
  • Oversee customer onboarding, log integration and detection use case implementation
  • Monitor SOC KPIs and service performance to ensure SLA compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across people, processes and technology
  • Stay ahead of emerging cyber threats and industry best practices

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years' experience working within a Security Operations Centre
  • Experience working with Microsoft Security technologies - Sentinel, Defender etc...
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring SOC teams
  • Strong knowledge of incident response and security monitoring
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM, SOAR and EDR platforms
  • Solid understanding of networking, cybersecurity principles and threat intelligence
  • Experience working within an MSSP or customer-facing security environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
