An excellent opportunity has arisen with a global brand for a hands-on Infrastructure Manager to join their Infrastructure team. This role involves supporting their current systems and services, as well as leading new projects, solutions, and platforms across both on-premise and cloud environments. The candidate will manage the infrastructure (not the team).
Role and Responsibilities
- Management: Reporting to the CTO, you will lead the implementation and support their UK infrastructure across multiple office locations and cloud services.
- Technical Expertise: You will leverage your comprehensive infrastructure experience to manage a variety of solutions across multiple tech stacks.
- Strategic Development: Develop a clear understanding of the offerings available to different business units, identify capabilities that align with global and UK strategies, and recognize system limitations.
- Hybrid Work Environment: This role offers a blend of working from their London HQ and remote locations.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Strong understanding of security best practices in all aspects of information security, with attention to detail and a commitment to thorough documentation.
- Experience with IaaS/PaaS/SaaS hosting (preferably Azure), including the consolidation and modernization of legacy systems to fit cloud environments. Relevant certifications in support and architecture.
- Robust networking background, with experience in managing multiple sites from firewalls to edge switches (Palo Alto, HP, Cisco), and familiarity with SD-WAN, IPv6, VPN, BGP, and Zero Trust/Zero Trust Network Access (ZT/ZTNA).
- Experience with on-premise solutions, e.g. VMware.
- Proficiency in managing enterprise storage solutions across on-prem and cloud environments.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player, sharing knowledge with both junior and senior staff members.
- Serve as a point of escalation, utilizing calm and methodical thought processes to resolve issues. This hands-on role requires supporting the infrastructure and service desk teams to resolution.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of cloud networking.
- Familiarity with automation or containerization technologies.
- Experience with Intune/Jamf MDM at an enterprise level.
- Good working knowledge of service desk and change management processes, including authorization and risk categorization.
- Ability to create reports using PowerBI.
- Exposure to the ISO27001 process.
Package: Basic Salary: up to £90,000. Full corporate benefits package. Hybrid – x2 days onsite London.
