Infrastructure Architect – Up to £100,000 – Financial Services – London Overview: A global British FTSE250 financial services company with over 60 locations worldwide are seeking an experienced Systems Architect to join their London-based IT Architecture team. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure solutions to support the organization’s hybrid Azure and on-premises environments. Acting as a technical leader and mentor, the Systems Architect ensures the delivery of scalable, secure, and operationally robust solutions that meet business needs. Role & Responsibilities: Infrastructure Design : Architect hybrid Azure/on-premises solutions, ensuring scalability and alignment with organisational goals. Technical Leadership : Provide technical expertise to colleagues and teams, including upskilling and offering 4th-line technical support during core hours. Project Delivery : Collaborate with the Project Management and IT Operations teams to execute projects that align with business objectives and IT strategy. Documentation & Handover : Develop comprehensive design documents, schematics, and operational documentation for seamless service handovers. Proactive Improvement : Identify and resolve design issues within existing systems before they impact users. Collaboration with Security : Work closely with the information security team to ensure new services are secure and compliant with company standards. Supplier Management : Specify and manage the delivery of solutions provided by external vendors. Essential Skills & Expertise: Azure cloud architecture, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines. Azure AD (SSO, application registration, conditional access) and M365/Intune. VMware ESXi, Horizon, and vCentre. Windows Server/Client, Active Directory, clustering, and file servers. HPe server and storage hardware. Backup tools (e.g., Commvault) and Certificate Services. Network routing, 802.1x, firewalling, and Cisco Call Manager. PowerShell scripting and automation.
