As part of their ongoing investment in technology, they are seeking a Head of Platform & Infrastructure Engineering to lead both infrastructure and DevOps functions within their London division.

The Role:

This senior role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management across both infrastructure systems and DevOps engineering. You will lead a high-performing team responsible for maintaining, modernizing, and scaling critical enterprise platforms that support global financial operations.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Serve as a technical escalation point and architecture advisor for infrastructure and platform projects.
• Collaborate with the business and IT stakeholders to align infrastructure and platform strategy with organisational goals.
• Ensure all services are secure by design, working closely with the information security team to proactively manage risks.
• Drive service improvement and operational resilience through automation, observability, and DevOps best practices.

Experience Required:

• Proven experience in leading platform/infrastructure and DevOps teams in a hands-on capacity.
• Strong technical foundation in both traditional infrastructure and modern DevOps tooling and methodologies.
• Able to operate at both strategic and detailed technical levels, including architecture, planning, and execution.
• Passion for engineering excellence, automation, and continuous improvement.
• Confident engaging with both technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
• Comfortable navigating complex, fast-paced enterprise environments and managing competing priorities.
• Strong experience with Microsoft enterprise technologies.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, GitOps, IaC (e.g., Terraform, ARM), and automation scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Cloud experience (ideally Azure) and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and observability platforms.

Package:

• £100,000 – £120,000 Basic Salary
