Head of IT Infrastructure – Financial Services – London (On‑Site) – Up to £180,000 Base Salary + 20% BonusOverview

We are seeking an experienced Head of IT Infrastructure to lead and evolve a mission‑critical technology function within a fast‑paced, global buy‑side trading environment.

This role owns the firm’s global infrastructure and cloud platforms, ensuring resilience, security, and performance across 24/7 trading operations. You will lead a high‑calibre team of infrastructure and cloud engineers while defining and delivering the long‑term infrastructure strategy that supports business growth, low‑latency trading, and data‑intensive workloads.

This is a senior leadership role combining deep technical authority, people leadership, vendor management, and strategic delivery within a highly demanding, always‑on environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a global Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering team (circa 10 engineers), with responsibility for scaling the function as the business grows
• Own the availability, resilience, and performance of global infrastructure platforms supporting 24/7 trading operations
• Define and deliver the global infrastructure and cloud roadmap aligned to business and front‑office requirements
• Architect, operate, and optimise hybrid and cloud‑native platforms across Microsoft Azure (essential) and AWS
• Oversee infrastructure operations including servers, networks, storage, virtualization, and end‑user platforms
• Design, implement, and regularly test disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
• Act as senior escalation point for complex infrastructure issues and major incidents
• Lead infrastructure security, identity, and access management in partnership with risk and compliance teams
• Drive automation, DevOps principles, and infrastructure‑as‑code to improve reliability and service quality
• Manage strategic vendors, cloud providers, and managed service partners

Skills & Experience

• 10+ years’ experience across infrastructure and IT operations, ideally within buy‑side trading, financial services, energy, or commodities
• Proven experience leading and scaling infrastructure teams, including senior engineers
• Strong background operating always‑on, low‑latency, high‑pressure environments
• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure and exposure to AWS
• Experience with VMware, enterprise storage, and core networking technologies
• Solid knowledge of infrastructure security, access management, and governance
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to partner closely with front‑office and business leaders

Up to £180,000 per annum base salary

Up to 20% performance‑related bonus
