We are seeking an experienced Network & Security Engineer to join a leading global banking organisation, supporting a highly regulated enterprise network environment across EMEA. This role is responsible for the stability, security, and performance of core network and firewall infrastructure, combining incident ownership with project delivery and ongoing operational support.
This is a hands-on role offering strong technical exposure, enterprise-scale networking, and the opportunity to work in a mature, well-funded financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities- Own and resolve network and security incidents end-to-end, acting as a senior technical escalation point.
- Support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including routing, switching, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Monitor and optimise network performance and availability.
- Deliver network and security project tasks to agreed timelines.
- Maintain accurate network diagrams and technical documentation.
- Work closely with internal teams and third-party vendors to support operations and change delivery.
- Participate in shift, on-call, and out-of-hours support as required.
- Strong hands-on and design experience with Cisco ACI in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Firewall expertise across Check Point and Palo Alto, including policy design, implementation, and support.
- Advanced routing and switching experience, covering Layer 2 & 3 technologies (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, high availability).
- Load balancer experience (e.g. F5 Big-IP or equivalent).
- 5+ years’ experience in network design, architecture, and delivery within complex, regulated environments.
- Strong operational experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure.
- Proven experience delivering network projects and producing high-quality technical documentation.
- Monday to Friday core hours.
- Participation in a rotating shift pattern (2 in 6).
- Early shifts from 7:00 am.
- Late cover until 6:00 pm.
- On-call, weekend, and occasional bank holiday working as required.
Up to £100,000 Basic Salary
Up to 20% Bonus
Hybrid working (2–3 days onsite – Liverpool Street)
