About the Role
Leading Tier 1 Investment Bank is seeking an experienced Lead Business Analyst to join their high-profile transformation programme. This role sits within the IT department and will play a pivotal part in the replacement of the bank’s General Ledger system. You’ll lead a small team of business analysts, drive data-focused analysis and solution design, and partner closely with senior stakeholders across technology and finance functions to deliver strategic change.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of business analysts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality analysis artefacts and documentation.
- Coordinate IT development activities and issues, supporting a major finance transformation initiative.
- Facilitate workshops and requirement-gathering sessions, ensuring clear, prioritised, and actionable user stories.
- Contribute to backlog refinement, sprint planning, and alignment with broader programme objectives.
- Perform complex data mapping, transformation, and analysis across large, multifaceted datasets.
- Design and document data flows, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with governance standards.
- Produce process maps, data models, and acceptance criteria to support delivery.
- Communicate progress, insights, and risks effectively to senior stakeholders.
Skills & Experience Required
- Extensive experience as a Business Analyst, including recent work in a lead or senior capacity within large transformation programmes.
- Strong data analysis and modelling skills, with advanced proficiency in SQL (SQL Server & Oracle) and Excel.
- Proven experience with data governance, data quality, and data management best practices.
- Experience across multiple asset classes (e.g. FX, ETD, Bonds, Credit Products).
- Exposure to General Ledger or finance system migration projects highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile frameworks (Jira, Confluence).
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and evolving environment.
Package
- Initial 6 month contract
- £700 p/day inside IR35
- Hybrid (2x week in London)
