We are seeking an experienced Front Office & Risk Business Analysis Team Lead to drive complex technology and change initiatives across Risk and Front Office functions within a global financial services environment. This role combines hands-on business analysis delivery with team leadership, stakeholder management, and strategic oversight of change programmes.
The successful candidate will act as a key partner between business and technology teams, ensuring successful delivery across a broad portfolio of initiatives spanning Risk, Finance, Trading, Operations, and Regulatory Change. The position requires strong domain expertise across financial products, risk systems, and front-office technology, alongside the ability to lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Lead the Front Office & Risk Business Analysis team across multiple change initiatives and strategic programmes.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across Risk, Front Office, Technology, and Change functions to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with business priorities.
- Drive resource planning, team management, contractor oversight, and governance activities across the BA function.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to both permanent staff and consultants, ensuring clear objectives and delivery standards.
- Act as a subject matter expert on Risk processes, systems, and technology solutions.
- Own and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and escalation management across programmes and BA resources.
- Support project delivery through hands-on business analysis activities including: Requirements gathering and documentation, Functional specifications, Solution design workshops, Testing strategy, test cases, and execution, User acceptance testing support, Status reporting and stakeholder communication.
- Work closely with project managers and technology teams to identify scalable and effective technology solutions.
- Contribute to strategic improvements, innovation initiatives, and adoption of AI-enabled practices within the BA function.
- Build strong working relationships across global teams and promote collaboration between business and technology stakeholders.
Technical Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years’ experience within Risk-focused Business Analysis roles in investment banking or financial services.
- Proven experience leading teams of Business Analysts or technology professionals within a large-scale banking or consultancy environment.
- Strong track record delivering complex, enterprise-scale change programmes.
- Deep understanding of Front Office and Risk domains, including: Bonds, Derivatives, FX, Credit products, Securities Financing, Loans and Deposits.
- Strong knowledge of: Trade lifecycle processes, P&L, Risk, and Market Data flows, Credit Risk concepts including exposure calculations, collateral management, and CSA processes, Front Office booking systems and Risk/Finance platform integrations.
- Experience working with Risk platforms such as Markit Analytics / FraimWrx preferred.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and project delivery methodologies.
- Strong technical analysis skills including SQL querying and systems analysis.
Package: £100,000 - £120,000 Basic Salary, 20% Bonus, London (Hybrid)
