IT Systems Developer to join their internal technology team, supporting the development and enhancement of business‑critical CRM applications.
Working within a cross‑functional Scrum team, this role will deliver new functionality, improve existing systems, and support the continued evolution of applications to meet changing business needs.
This is an opportunity for a skilled PHP Developer to work in a collaborative Agile environment, delivering high‑quality software solutions alongside developers, QA, Business Analysts, and Dev Ops teams.
- Develop and maintain backend systems using PHP (Laravel/Cake PHP).
- Deliver features end‑to‑end, including development, testing, and deployment.
- Enhance existing applications, including legacy Cake PHP systems.
- Build and maintain APIs and backend services.
- Write clean, maintainable code following development standards and best practices.
- Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD processes.
- Support system design, integrations, and technical improvements.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with wider technology teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve performance, scalability, and reduce technical debt.
Skills & Experience
- 3+ years’ commercial experience in PHP development.
- Strong experience with PHP 7.4 (Cake PHP) and PHP 8+ (Laravel/Symfony).
- Experience building backend systems and APIs.
- Strong knowledge of My SQL, including queries and performance optimisation.
- Experience with Git, branching workflows, and pull requests.
- Familiarity with Docker and Linux/WSL environments.
- Experience with unit testing and automated testing practices.
- Understanding of software design principles and coding standards.
- Exposure to Vue. js/Nuxt, Azure, CI/CD pipelines, messaging technologies, or microservices is beneficial.
