We’re currently partnered with a leading IT consultancy delivering innovative data and digital solutions to a range of enterprise clients across sectors including retail, healthcare, and manufacturing. We are seeking a skilled 2nd Line Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide advanced technical support to customers, resolving complex issues and ensuring the smooth operation of critical network systems. You will collaborate closely with 3rd Line resolver teams and follow established processes to maintain high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve technical issues escalated from 1st Line support.
- Perform diagnostics, log monitoring, and rule base auditing.
- Manage device software upgrades, patches, and bug fixes.
- Handle configuration backup/restore and network configuration changes.
- Collaborate with 3rd Line teams and escalate to vendors when necessary.
- Complete scheduled tasks and provide detailed handovers between shifts.
- Support Service Desk and assist with onboarding new customers.
- Maintain technical accreditations and proactively develop skills.
- Participate in change management processes and shadowing activities.
Requirements
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar SLA-driven support role.
- Proven ability to deliver projects and complex changes.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco Switch/Router environments.
- Experience with technologies such as: Fortinet, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Cisco, Cisco Meraki, HP Aruba, F5, Azure and AWS Netscaler / F5 Load Balancers.
- HP Switching.
- Advanced Cisco knowledge (Wireless, SD-WAN, DNAC, ISE, ACI).
- Security Clearance (SC) or ability to obtain.
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices.
Shift Pattern: 4 shifts on (Friday to Monday, including weekends) – 8:00am to 6:00pm, 3 days off (Tuesday to Thursday).
