An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced commercial leader to join a major infrastructure programme. This role will provide strategic leadership across high-value procurement and commercial activities, supporting the successful delivery of complex engineering and construction projects. You will work alongside senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams, driving commercial excellence from strategy development through to contract award and mobilisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement and commercial activity across a portfolio of major projects.
- Develop and implement packaging, procurement and commercial strategies.
- Oversee the full commercial lifecycle from strategic planning through tendering, contract award and supplier mobilisation.
- Provide leadership, coaching and development to a small commercial team.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Finance, PMO, Legal and Technical functions.
- Ensure commercial governance, reporting and assurance requirements are met.
- Make informed decisions on complex commercial matters while delivering value for money.
- Support contract negotiations and commercial risk management activities.
Essential Experience
- Extensive experience leading commercial and procurement activities within major projects.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts, including drafting and negotiation.
- Proven leadership experience within complex, multidisciplinary environments.
- Experience delivering commercial strategies across large-scale construction, engineering or infrastructure programmes.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills.
- Experience operating within structured governance and assurance frameworks.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within regulated sectors such as infrastructure, energy, engineering or major capital projects.
- Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations and frameworks.
- Experience working within government-led programmes and approval processes.
