I'm currently supporting a leading UK retail organisation undergoing a major data transformation programme and seeking an experienced Data Solution Architect to help shape the future of its customer data capabilities. This is an exciting opportunity to define and influence enterprise-wide customer data architecture, working across analytics, personalisation, CRM, loyalty and marketing functions to deliver scalable, secure and business-focused data solutions.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Define target-state and transition-state customer data architectures
  • Design scalable customer data solutions that support analytics, personalisation and business growth
  • Lead architectural decisions around customer data management, identity resolution and master data management
  • Produce architecture artefacts and design documentation for engineering teams
  • Review solution designs for alignment with architecture principles and governance standards
  • Collaborate with Data, Analytics, CRM, Loyalty, Marketing and Technology stakeholders
  • Drive best practice across data integration, governance, quality and security

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Data or Solution Architect within a large-scale retail environment
  • Strong background in Customer Data Architecture and Customer Data Management
  • Experience designing Data Lake and Lakehouse solutions
  • Strong understanding of Analytics, Reporting and Customer Insight platforms
  • Knowledge of Data Governance, Security and Enterprise Architecture principles
  • Experience presenting solutions and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Ability to create and govern architecture standards, design principles and design decisions

Desirable Experience

  • Azure-based data platforms and services
  • Databricks
  • Machine Learning and AI-driven personalisation solutions
  • Agile delivery environments
  • Mentoring and reviewing architecture produced by others

Contract Details

  • 6-Month Initial Contract
