Our client is seeking an experienced Electronic Repair Technician to join their Test Bench team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fault finding, diagnostics, repairs, and refurbishments of electrical, electronic, and mechanical assemblies. This is a hands-on position where your technical skills will play a vital part in delivering high-quality results and supporting customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, fault-find, and repair electronic/electrical assemblies.
- Carry out soldering (SMT & through-hole) and PCB rework to a high standard.
- Operate electronic test equipment including multimeters, light sensors, and diagnostic software.
- Complete refurbishments to defined processes, quality, and safety standards.
- Support the development of repair and test procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations at all times.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong soldering and PCB rework skills (IPC-610 / IPC-7711/21 desirable).
- Experience with electronic diagnostics and test equipment.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and follow procedures.
- Hands-on skills in crimping, torque tightening, and mechanical assembly.
- Prior experience in electronic repair/maintenance (rail industry advantageous).
- Minimum Level 3 ONC/NVQ in Electrical/Electronic/Engineering (or equivalent).
