We are seeking a proactive and experienced SHEQ Manager to lead our Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality efforts across our UK EPC operations. This is a pivotal role that ensures our construction and engineering activities meet the highest standards of compliance, safety, and sustainability—aligned with UK legislation and global best practices in Solar and BESS energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health & Safety) and ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management) systems across UK projects.
  • Act as the competent person for compliance with The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, ensuring all duties under CDM are fulfilled.
  • Conduct internal audits, inspections, and site visits to ensure adherence to SHEQ standards and drive a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Provide technical SHEQ support and guidance to project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders throughout all phases of project delivery.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions and toolbox talks to promote proactive HSE awareness on site.
  • Maintain and report key SHEQ metrics and trends to senior management, highlighting opportunities for improvement and areas of concern.
  • Independently investigate incidents, near-misses, and non-conformities, providing root cause analyses and corrective action plans.
  • Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and clients as required, representing the company in a professional and compliant manner.
Requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 management systems, with Internal Auditor certification in both.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent internationally recognised HSE qualification (minimum NEBOSH General Certificate as a base).
  • Comprehensive understanding of UK HSE legislation, including CDM 2015 regulations and associated statutory instruments.
  • Experience working on large-scale solar PV, BESS, or other industrial energy infrastructure projects in an EPC environment.
  • A minimum of 10 years of HSE/SHEQ experience within construction or renewable energy sectors.
  • Strong judgement and the ability to work autonomously—able to interpret regulations, apply best practices, and elevate risks appropriately.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in HSE management systems.
  • Educated to degree/diploma level in Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Full Clean UK Driver's Licence.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
