Job Description:
Summary: We are seeking a commercially astute, hands-on Director of UK Operations & Strategy to lead and grow our UK business during an exciting phase of expansion in the green energy sector.
This role requires a decisive leader with a strong track record in the UK EPC Solar/BESS market, capable of steering operational excellence, driving profitability, and strengthening our position as a market leader.The successful candidate will combine strategic vision with a willingness to be on the ground – building relationships, overseeing key projects, and ensuring delivery against ambitious commercial and operational targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Define, communicate, and execute the strategic vision for the UK business, ensuring alignment with Group objectives and the UK’s low-carbon transition goals.
- Lead from the front, maintaining visible leadership both in the London office and on major project sites.
- Provide clear, accountable leadership to the senior team, ensuring delivery against operational, commercial, and cultural objectives.
Operational Management
- Oversee project execution, ensuring safety, quality, and budget adherence across large-scale EPC solar and BESS projects.
- Champion continuous improvement in systems, processes, and project delivery.
- Ensure full compliance with UK regulatory, contractual, and health & safety obligations.
Commercial & Financial Performance
- Own the UK P&L, ensuring achievement of revenue and profitability targets.
- Monitor and optimise project financials, with a clear understanding of cost drivers and risk exposure.
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and investment plans, ensuring robust financial controls.
Business Development & Market Growth
- Leverage existing networks to secure high-value contracts and partnerships.
- Build long-term relationships with developers, clients, investors, and industry stakeholders.
- Position the business as a trusted leader in the UK green energy construction sector.
People Leadership & Succession Planning
- Build a high-performance culture that attracts, develops, and retains top talent.
- Mentor senior leaders and establish a strong succession pipeline.

Candidate Profile
Essential
- Proven P&L accountability in a UK-based EPC, construction, or renewable energy company.
- Deep knowledge of the UK Solar and BESS market, including commercial, regulatory, and delivery landscapes.
- Demonstrated success delivering large-scale EPC projects on time, to budget, and to high quality standards.
- Strong leadership credentials with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
- Commercially sharp with excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Candidate must have the right to work in the UK without restrictions.
- The candidate must be willing to commute to London three days a week or be open to relocating to London to meet the hybrid working arrangement.
Desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
- Postgraduate qualification (e.g., MBA) preferred.
- Experience operating in a multi-country, matrix-structured organisation.
