- Hours: Monday‑Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (35 hours a week)
- Duration: 21 months
- Positions Available: 2 (Apprenticeship)
- Pay: £14,560 first year; thereafter National Minimum Wage for your age or above. Pay may be negotiated and may rise after successful completion of probation.
Responsibilities
- Customer Care: Greet patients warmly, answer enquiries, and guide them through appointments.
- Appointment Management: Schedule appointments, update diaries, and send reminders.
- Frame and Lens Assistance: Help patients choose frames and lenses, providing advice and recommendations.
- Administration: Maintain accurate patient records, handle incoming calls, process payments, and verify insurance details.
- Reception Area: Keep the reception tidy and professional.
- Team Support: Liaise with optometrists and colleagues to ensure seamless patient care and workflow.
- Problem Solving: Address patient concerns or queries promptly and professionally.
- Training
- Apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or training organisation; at least 20 % of working hours will be spent training or studying.
- College: INTEC Business Colleges Limited.
- Course: Business Administrator (Level 3).
- Training Plan: Business Administrator Level 3, End Point Assessment, Work‑Based Training, Functional Skills (if necessary).
Qualifications & Skills
- Essential: GCSE English (Grade 9‑3 A*‑D); GCSE Mathematics (Grade 9‑3 A*‑D).
- Required skills: Communication, IT (Microsoft Office), Organisation, Customer care, Problem solving, Team working, Confidence with customers, Professionalism, Flexibility & adaptability.
- Desired: Experience in customer service.
