IntaPeople are working exclusively with a tech-driven insurance services provider that is looking to grow the team. We are hiring an Infrastructure Engineer to join a collaborative team delivering new features and improving an established product. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you will monitor systems to identify performance issues whilst resolving incidents with agreed service levels. The role will be a hybrid role, consisting of first, second, and third line support. The Infrastructure Engineer will carry out a variety of activities and gain exposure to working on various projects both internally and externally. You will be exposed to several cloud-based technologies and will include some DevOps related functions.

Skills:

  • 2-4 years experience as an Infrastructure Engineer (or similar role)
  • Experience with 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support
  • Experience supporting hardware and software systems
  • Experience or exposure with Microsoft Azure cloud and/or AWS

Responsibilities:

  • Support Azure & V-Sphere estates, back-end systems and services to the business
  • Work within a collaborative team of circa 15 engineers
  • Implement and monitor system alerts to ensure any failures receive immediate attention
  • Identify new system hardware and software needs
  • Ensure that support tickets are appropriately recorded
  • Aid in the implementation of bought-in hardware and software systems
  • Liaise with the software development team to ensure smooth roll-out of bespoke software systems
  • Maximise availability (uptime) of essential services
  • Schedule upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems
  • Champion new systems in the business, ensuring all levels of users have appropriate training
  • Ensure compliance with licensing regulations
  • Ensure the security of the estate is not compromised
  • Work within strict timeframes and escalate incidents within defined timeframes
  • Provision of out of hours/standby support for scheduled maintenance and system failures

Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 depending on experience

On-call bonus after passing probation. On-call overtime paid on top of salary. 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays plus your Birthday off paid off. Cardiff hybrid working (2 days onsite discussed for team collaboration/training). Strong work-life balance culture. Discount on insurance products where available. You must have access to your own transport. Please note, we cannot offer sponsorship opportunities to candidates who do not have the ability to work and live within the UK without restriction. Candidates are also to be onsite 2 days per week, so living in South Wales or a reasonable commute of the office is to be considered.
