We are supporting an innovative manufacturing business in the search for a Senior NPI Quality Engineer to strengthen its quality function during an exciting period of growth. This position will play a critical role in ensuring quality is embedded throughout the product introduction process, from early-stage development through to full-scale manufacturing. Working closely with engineering, operations and supply chain teams, you will take ownership of key quality planning and product approval activities, helping to deliver robust, production-ready solutions. The successful candidate will provide technical guidance to a small quality team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day engineering and quality activities. Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of product quality planning and production approval activities for new and existing programmes.
  • Lead the application of recognised quality methodologies, including risk assessments, process reviews and control strategies.
  • Support prototype, pilot and validation builds, ensuring quality requirements are effectively integrated into manufacturing processes.
  • Act as the primary quality contact within cross-functional project teams, providing technical input and guidance.
  • Investigate quality concerns, driving root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions.
  • Work closely with suppliers to verify component and material compliance, supporting qualification and performance improvement activities.
  • Assess potential product and process risks, implementing preventative measures to protect quality and delivery performance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing manufacturing capability, product consistency and operational efficiency.

Experience/Skills:

  • HNC, HND or Degree level in an engineering or quality-related discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience managing quality activities during the introduction of new products.
  • Strong experience with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning).
  • Strong understanding of structured quality tools and methodologies, including FMEA, SPC, MSA, auditing and corrective action processes.
  • Previous exposure to electronics, electromechanical products or technically complex assemblies would be highly advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing and supply chain stakeholders while constructively challenging decisions when necessary.
  • Experience gained within sectors such as automotive, aerospace, medical technology or other regulated manufacturing industries.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
