We’re looking for a Production Support / Operations Analyst to join an established enterprise operations team in Cardiff. This role sits at the heart of a 24x7 environment where batch processing, system monitoring and incident response keep critical systems running. It’s ideal for someone from a Unix / Linux support, infrastructure support, application support or batch / operations background who is used to working with monitoring tools, alerts and live systems.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring batch jobs and job schedules across multiple systems
- Watching event consoles and responding to alerts
- Restarting or managing failed jobs and checking dependencies
- Running agreed schedule changes and release scripts into production
- Using Linux / Unix commands to check job execution and system health
- Escalating to DBA, Network and Application teams when required
- Producing operational reports and maintaining procedures
Working within ITIL / incident management processes. Experience with any scheduling or workload automation tools (Control-M, VisualCron, Autosys, TWS or similar) is useful but not essential. What matters is experience in environments where you have supported live systems, responded to alerts, and worked with batch processing or monitoring as part of your day job.

This is a 12-hour day / night shift role based in Cardiff (4 days on 4 days off). Once trained, night shifts can be worked from home. Initial 6-month contract with very good chance of extensions.
