What you will do Manage sub-contractors on routine, planned and emergency work. Control an operational budget of around four million pounds a year, with regular reporting. Create permits to work and validate risk assessments and method statements. Write scopes of work for quotation and tender. Run the facilities work request process for ad hoc jobs across the site. Plan and prioritise work to keep downtime low and use resources well. Lead small projects such as office refurbishments, from scope to handover. Work with other departments to settle competing priorities. Make sure every job follows a safe system of work and meets CDM 2015. What you will bring A time served apprenticeship in a mechanical or electrical trade. Current experience managing contractors and budgets. You will already be off the tools. Hands-on knowledge of permits to work, RAMS and safe systems of work. Working knowledge of CDM 2015. Experience on an industrial, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, hospital or data centre site. Good Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and Project. Strong attention to detail and the confidence to hold contractors to account. It would help if you have An HNC or HND in mechanical or electrical engineering. A NEBOSH General Certificate. Knowledge of central plant such as HVAC, chillers, compressed air and utilities. Experience of commissioning and decommissioning plant. Experience with SAP or a similar system. If it sounds like an ideal opportunity for you, please apply for immediate consideration
