A high-tech manufacturer in Newport, who have recently received significant investment and are undergoing huge expansion, require a Health and Safety Engineer to join their growing team. Joining a small team, your emphasis will be on Health & Safety, with some of the role assisting an existing Environmental Engineer. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain effective management systems, ensuring compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 standards. Provide efficient Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) services to support business needs. Assist EHS Engineers in fulfilling their duties effectively. Monitor and oversee on-site EHS practices of contractors and businesses. Ensure timely maintenance and compliance of all life safety systems. Coordinate remedial actions for any maintenance issues or system breakdowns. Maintain accurate records and schedules for maintenance activities using the Facilities CMMS. Participate in EHS improvement and obsolescence projects. Conduct health and safety inductions for new employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors; maintain comprehensive training records. Support the training and preparedness of the emergency response team. Develop and implement policies and guidelines to meet EHS legislation and best practices. Organize and document training programs for staff and contractors. Participate in internal review boards to ensure EHS considerations are integrated into project stages. Investigate and report on EHS-related incidents, implementing corrective actions as necessary. Manage administrative tasks related to EHS, including maintaining records, permits, and purchase orders. Qualifications and Experience: Experienced Health & Safety Engineer/Advisor (or EHS/SHEQ) Experience within a manufacturing environment HNC or equivalent in health and safety, environmental, engineering, or a related field NEBOSH certificate would be beneficial
