This role will be instrumental in planning and delivering electrical elements of capital investment projects, system upgrades, and new installations at a large-scale manufacturing facility.
You will most likely have an Electrical Maintenance background, with extensive commissioning and installation experience, experience managing contractors (remits of work etc.) and ideally some PLC programming and electrical design experience (although these are not essential).
On offer is a highly competitive package, including:
- £45,000 - £48,000 basic salary (Monday – Friday, days)
- Bonus – up to 6% of salary
- 38 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays)

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineering colleagues to ensure successful delivery of project goals — on time, on budget, and aligned with technical requirements.
- Support the definition and development of project scopes, schedules, and cost estimates for electrical workstreams.
- Create and update accurate electrical schematics and layout drawings using AutoCAD or similar software.
- Establish and maintain work breakdown structures for electrical tasks to ensure project clarity and accountability.
- Develop detailed electrical budgets, track costs throughout the project lifecycle, and flag any deviations.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors and third-party vendors involved in electrical installations and commissioning.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams — including production, engineering, and operations — to ensure designs meet functional and safety requirements.
- Communicate project updates clearly and consistently to all stakeholders, escalating risks or delays as needed.
- Champion safe working practices by ensuring all work is covered by the appropriate risk assessments, permits, and safety documentation.
- Provide backup project leadership in the absence of the Project Manager.
- Ensure all electrical project work aligns with site-wide environmental, health and safety, and quality management systems.
Experience & Qualifications:
- HNC/HND/Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Proven track record delivering electrical engineering work in an industrial or manufacturing setting
- Familiarity with project management principles and lifecycle execution
- Experience managing contractors (remits of work etc.)
- Strong communicator with ability to manage multiple priorities and influence others
- Solid IT skills including Microsoft Office tools
- Working knowledge of safety systems and regulations
- Ideally a competent user of AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN (or similar)
- PLC programming experience would be beneficial
