Are you an experienced, hands-on E/I Technician looking for a stable Monday–Friday role with no shifts or call-outs? We’re working closely with a well-established manufacturing site in the Cwmbran area that is expanding its maintenance capability and looking for someone who enjoys practical instrumentation work in a planned-maintenance environment. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive engineering team where your skills will make a real impact.

You’ll be part of a wider maintenance team of around 16, focusing primarily on instrumentation work (around 75%) with some electrical responsibilities (around 25%). The site is well-organised, safety-driven, and operates with a strong planned-maintenance culture.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosing and resolving instrumentation and electrical faults during plant issues
  • Installing, commissioning, and maintaining control and measurement systems (pressure, level, temperature etc.)
  • Calibrating instrumentation using modern tools and software
  • Working on hazardous-area equipment in line with relevant regulations
  • Supporting electrical tasks such as 415V motor work, lighting, and cable management
  • Keeping accurate maintenance records and updating engineering drawings when required

The ideal candidate is practical, hands-on, and enjoys being involved in day-to-day instrumentation work rather than high-level engineering or design. You’ll be able to demonstrate the following experience:

  • A time-served apprenticeship or qualification in electrical or instrumentation
  • Strong fault-finding skills and a methodical approach
  • Hands-on experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or process environment
  • A commitment to safe working and high-quality standards
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with systems such as SAP or calibration software (training can be provided)

Nice to have:

  • DSEAR/ATEX or explosive-atmosphere experience
  • Apprenticeship background
  • Broader exposure to hazardous-area equipment
