A major financial institution in Brussels is expanding its distributed development squad and is looking for an experienced analyst to join its team. This role sits within a high-impact payments domain, working closely with developers, architects, and stakeholders across Belgium and France. If you enjoy bridging functional and technical worlds, shaping API documentation, and refining user stories that genuinely guide development, this is a role where your expertise will be felt immediately.
You’ll join a distributed Java development squad, acting as the functional and technical bridge between business requirements and implementation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and refining API documentation (Swagger experience essential)
- Understanding Java-based code structures to guide developers effectively
- Leading and contributing to Agile ceremonies: backlog grooming, refinement, three amigos
- Writing complete, detailed user stories with acceptance criteria and edge cases
- Deep-dive analysis into functional payment flows and system behaviours
- Collaborating with stakeholders across multiple countries
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Hands-on experience in Java API environments
- Strong knowledge of Swagger and API documentation practices
- Ability to read and understand Java code (no coding required)
- Solid Agile experience and comfort working in a mature squad
- A detail-oriented mindset – someone who goes beyond surface-level analysis
- Background in financial services, ideally in Payments or International Payments
- Bonus: You may be an ex-Java developer who transitioned into functional analysis
