We are seeking an experienced Analogue Electronics Engineer to take a technical lead role in the creation and delivery of complex electronic designs. This position offers hands-on involvement throughout the entire product development cycle, from shaping early concepts through to integrating and validating finished hardware. The contract is outside IR35, initial 6 months, hybrid (circa 3 days onsite). Although many projects support defence-focused equipment and secure systems, applicants with relevant knowledge from similarly demanding, high-integrity sectors are strongly encouraged to apply.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering group, you will apply your specialist analogue hardware expertise to guide design decisions and ensure robust, high-quality outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Interpreting and analysing customer-level requirements to define suitable hardware approaches
- Producing and modifying electronic architectures and detailed circuit designs
- Using simulation and modelling tools to verify behaviour and support test-bench creation
- Participating in peer and formal design reviews
- Maintaining strong configuration control across hardware artefacts
- Supporting hardware bring-up, integration and system-level commissioning
- Collaborating with manufacturing and test teams during build, debug and verification stages
Experience/expertise:
- Strong background in analogue circuit design (e.g., amplifiers, oscillators, filtering, low-noise and precision circuits)
- Understanding of signal integrity, EMC considerations, and good hardware layout practices
- Knowledge of mixed-signal design and experience with ADCs, DACs, and associated interfaces
- Experience in designing and reviewing power supply and power-management circuitry
- Confident use of lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers and related tools
- Ability to define, document, and verify hardware against clear requirement sets
- Familiarity with creating and modifying analogue and digital hardware modules
- Hands-on involvement in system-level commissioning and troubleshooting
- Experience supporting the transition of designs into production and test environments
- Exposure to development frameworks or guidelines similar to RTCA/DO-254 (or equivalent high-integrity hardware processes)
- Current Security Clearance would be beneficial, eligibility for SC is essential
If it sounds like an ideal opportunity, apply for immediate consideration.
