This is a great opportunity for an apprentice-trained Electrical Maintenance Technician or Engineer who enjoys fault finding, preventative maintenance, plant reliability, and working within a fast-paced industrial environment.

This role is focused on electrical maintenance, and we looking for people with strong electrical skills gained in manufacturing, industrial, process, utilities, FMCG, engineering, or similar environments.

Whilst exposure to instrumentation or control systems may be advantageous, it is not a requirement for the position.

This is a days based role, Monday - Friday, 8am until 4pm.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate electrical breakdowns across site equipment, identify root causes, and implement timely repairs.
  • Perform maintenance on a wide range of electrical assets, including motors, variable speed drives, switchgear, distribution equipment, and control panels.
  • Install, service, and repair low-voltage motor systems and their associated controls.
  • Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
  • Undertake electrical installation activities, including power supplies, lighting systems, cable routing, containment, and termination work.
  • Assist with initiatives aimed at improving equipment performance, efficiency, and operational reliability.
  • Ensure maintenance records, job reports, and electrical documentation are accurately completed and kept up to date.
  • Adhere to all site safety requirements, permit-to-work systems, and COMAH standards when carrying out maintenance activities.
  • Support engineering projects, plant modifications, equipment upgrades, and installation work as required.

Experience/Skills

  • Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship (time-served).
  • Hold a relevant electrical qualification, such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC, or similar.
  • Proven experience maintaining and repairing electrical equipment within manufacturing, production, industrial, engineering, process, or utilities environments.
  • Strong analytical fault-finding capabilities with the ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
  • Confident in interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards maintenance activities and a strong commitment to health and safety.
  • Comfortable working independently whilst also contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Well-organised, with the ability to manage priorities and deliver work to agreed timescales.

On offer is a highly competitive salary (up to £42,000) working Monday - Friday (8am until 4pm), and an excellent benefits package including a high rate pension, life insurance, private medical insurance, onsite gym, 33 days holiday etc.

This role offers the chance to join a stable and well-established manufacturing operation where electrical maintenance is at the heart of plant reliability.

You'll work within a supportive maintenance team, enjoy an attractive benefits package, and have opportunities to further develop your technical skills and experience.
