The Opportunity
We're partnering with a global organisation currently investing heavily in its enterprise technology landscape and SAP transformation programme.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced
SAP Consultant to join a growing international IT team supporting mission-critical SAP environments across multiple business units.
This role combines hands-on SAP BASIS expertise with platform governance, supplier management, and technical leadership responsibilities.
You'll play a key role in ensuring the stability, security, performance, and continuous improvement of a complex SAP estate while supporting strategic transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- SAP Platform Operations
- Manage and oversee the operational health of SAP environments.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity.
- Support upgrades, patching, maintenance activities, and lifecycle management.
- Ensure effective transport management and release governance.
- SAP Cloud & Service Governance
- Act as the primary technical liaison for managed SAP services and cloud-hosted environments.
- Monitor service delivery performance and contractual SLA compliance.
- Coordinate escalations and drive issue resolution with external partners.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with SAP and third-party service providers.
- Challenge and review proposed technical solutions and recommendations.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, development, and business teams to support operational and project requirements.
- Security, Compliance & Disaster Recovery
- Ensure SAP platforms remain secure, compliant, and audit-ready.
- Support patch management, system hardening, and security best practices.
- Coordinate backup, recovery, disaster recovery testing, system refreshes, and client administration activities.
- Continuous Improvement
- Drive platform optimisation initiatives and reduce recurring incidents.
- Troubleshoot performance issues, system errors, and technical defects.
- Support platform upgrades, migrations, integrations, and transformation programmes.
- Required Experience
- 5+ years' experience within SAP BASIS administration and support.
- Strong experience supporting SAP landscapes including S/4HANA and Net Weaver platforms.
- Experience working within managed service or cloud-hosted SAP environments.
- Knowledge of SAP HANA databases.
- Experience supporting Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
- Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or similar cloud platforms.
- Experience with SAP tools including: SUM, STMS, Solution Manager, Cloud ALM
- Strong understanding of change, release, and transport management.
- Experience managing third-party suppliers and service providers.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and service governance frameworks.
Desirable Experience
- SAP S/4HANA migration project experience.
- Experience within large-scale international SAP environments.
- SAP certifications.
- Experience supporting SAP transformation programmes.
