We’re looking for an experienced FMCG Senior Buyer to join our team and take ownership of a dynamic Supplier portfolio within a fast-paced environment. You’ll be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure we deliver competitive, high quality products that meet customer demand and drive profitability.
The Role
- Sourcing new and exciting FMCG toiletries products from existing and new suppliers.
- Proactively researching the market to identify new brands, products, trends and commercial opportunities.
- Developing and maintaining a strong network of UK and international suppliers.
- Negotiating competitive purchase prices, payment terms, MOQs and trading agreements.
- Identifying clearance, excess, discontinued and promotional stock opportunities.
- Assessing new products based on cost, market demand, sell-through potential and profitability.
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships to secure the best deals.
- Working closely with the sales team to understand customer demand and identify products with strong sales potential.
- Monitoring competitor activity, market pricing and product trends.
- Managing the buying process from initial enquiry and negotiation through to purchase order and delivery.
- Continuously looking for opportunities to improve margin, stock availability and sales performance.
- Supporting the development and growth of the toiletries category.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is commercially hungry, proactive and confident. You will ideally have:
- Minimum of 3 years previous experience in FMCG buying, trading or wholesale, ideally within toiletries.
- A natural networker – You're comfortable approaching new suppliers, building relationships and opening doors.
- Opportunity focused – You enjoy searching for products, spotting trends and finding opportunities others may overlook.
- Negotiation focused – You aren't afraid to negotiate and are confident challenging suppliers to achieve the best possible deal.
- Entrepreneurial – You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where your ideas and decisions can have a direct impact on the business.
