About Our Client

Our client is a global agency working with some of the world’s most recognisable automotive brands to design and deliver learning experiences that truly connect people with products. They are not a traditional training company. Their work combines creativity, strategy, and a deep understanding of how people learn to deliver programmes that are engaging, practical, and memorable. Every project is designed to make learning feel exciting and relevant, not just another training session. It is a fast-moving, collaborative environment where ideas are valued, quality matters, and everyone shares a passion for doing things properly.

The Role

We are looking for a Head of Learning to lead the design and delivery of innovative learning programmes across a portfolio of global automotive clients. This is a hands-on, strategic position where you will shape how learning is conceived, structured, and delivered. You will coordinate a talented network of freelance instructional designers, ensuring every project meets the high standards the business is known for. You will also work closely with an experienced mentor who is one of the most respected professionals in automotive learning. Together, you will share knowledge, maintain consistency, and build the next chapter of the company’s learning function. You will not be delivering the training yourself, but you will understand what makes a live learning experience engaging and memorable. Whether it is a product launch, sales event, or interactive skills workshop, you will ensure it not only fits the brand but also connects with the learner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of engaging, scalable learning solutions aligned to client objectives.
  • Oversee a network of freelance instructional designers, maintaining standards and consistency across projects.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, internal project managers, and creative teams to bring concepts to life.
  • Ensure programmes reflect best practice in adult learning while remaining learner-centred and engaging.
  • Contribute to client proposals and help translate briefs into clear and effective learning strategies.
  • Apply feedback and performance data to continually refine and improve programmes.
  • Explore new learning technologies, formats, and methods to keep content innovative and interactive.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in instructional design, learning development, or training strategy.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory and human behaviour in a learning context.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • Confidence in client-facing communication and collaboration with creative teams.
  • A practical, curious mindset with a genuine passion for learning and development.
  • Empathy for trainers and appreciation for what makes live learning successful.
  • Automotive or retail experience is helpful but not essential. Curiosity and adaptability are more important.

What Is On Offer

  • A key position in shaping how learning is delivered across a respected global business.
  • Direct mentorship from one of the most experienced learning professionals in the industry.
  • The opportunity to influence the company’s future learning strategy and approach.
  • A supportive, energetic, and creative team culture.
  • Hybrid working, travel opportunities, and a high-specification laptop with all the tools you need to succeed.

If you believe learning should be inspiring, interactive, and meaningful, and you are ready to lead programmes that make a genuine impact, we would love to hear from you.
