Salary: £45,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Our client, a growing independent wealth management firm, is seeking an experienced Team Leader to oversee its Technical and Paraplanning function. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Paraplanner or existing Team Leader looking to combine technical expertise with people management. The successful candidate will lead a team of Paraplanners, Technical Administration Specialists and Apprentices, ensuring high-quality technical support is delivered to Financial Advisers while maintaining service levels, compliance standards and client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop the Technical and Paraplanning Team.
  • Manage workflow and ensure tasks are completed within agreed service levels.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of suitability reports and technical recommendations.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical queries.
  • Support training, development and performance management across the team.
  • Produce management information and contribute to process improvements.
  • Maintain a hands-on technical role, supporting complex cases, cashflow modelling and report writing where required.
  • Work closely with Advisers, Compliance, Operations and senior leadership teams.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS/DipFA) or equivalent.
  • Experience leading a Paraplanning or Technical Team.
  • Proven paraplanning experience gained within an independent financial planning or wealth management environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments and wider financial planning.
  • Previous people management, mentoring or supervisory experience.
  • Experience writing and reviewing suitability reports.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of IHT, CGT and estate planning.
  • Experience using Intelligent Office, FE Analytics and Voyant.
