Insworld Institute is a secondary school in Singapore teaching local and international students a British curriculum, adapted to suit the needs of the international learner. We work only with small class sizes (4-12 students), allowing us to focus on the needs of each individual learner.
Primary Role
- Teach Mathematics at International A-Level (Pearson Edexcel), including modules in Statistics, Mechanics, Decision Maths and Further Mathematics
- Set and mark homework tasks and formative and summative assessment tests
- Maintain attendance and achievement and class management records
- Monitor academic progress of students
- Provide regular reports on student performance
- Attend meetings to review performance
- Act as Personal Tutor (academic mentor) to some students
Additional Responsibilities
- Implement teaching strategies to ensure students achieve the best possible examination results
- Produce accurate and focused lesson plans and schemes of work
- Promote an inclusive and supportive atmosphere in the school
- Help maintain high levels of student focus and engagement
- Take an active role in the welfare of students at the school
- Participate actively in extra-curricular activities
- Be available to give extra tuition to students who require this assistance
- Undertake any other duties as directed
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Minimum a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Statistics or related discipline
- Enthusiasm to teach and develop pedagogical experience
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant full-time teaching experience
Desirable
- Familiarity with Pearson Edexcel International A-Level specifications in Mathematics and Statistics
- Familiarity with Pearson Edexcel International GCSE specifications in Mathematics (A) and Statistics
- Experience of teaching international students using English as the medium of instruction
This role would be suitable for a recent graduate who is looking to expand their experience of teaching. We are looking for a teacher who has the right attitude and manner to work closely with students in small classes, supporting their personal and academic development. On-going training and guidance from the academic staff will be provided.
