As we build and launch new customer-facing applications, we’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer who thrives in a fast-moving startup environment. In this role, you'll ship features quickly, validate ideas in production, and scale solutions that gain traction—balancing pragmatism with long-term maintainability.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll be deep in the codebase, working across the cloud-native application stack, making end-to-end decisions on how best to deliver functionality at speed. You’ll collaborate closely with product, data and design to move from concept to production in days—not months.

If you love solving real customer problems, moving fast while keeping quality high, and scaling products that prove their value, we’d love to talk.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Build & Ship Quickly – Develop and deploy customer-facing applications across the whole stack, using TypeScript on the frontend and Python/Go on the backend, iterating rapidly to validate ideas in production. You'll work across the stack, making smart technical choices to deliver features at speed while ensuring maintainability.
  • Prototype & Scale – Work closely with Product, Commercial and Data teams to test new features in the market, embracing a fail-fast approach to quickly identify what resonates with customers. Once validated, you'll know how to ensure these solutions can scale.
  • Own Your Work End-to-End – Take full ownership of your projects, from initial technical design to deployment and monitoring on Azure. You'll balance pragmatism and quality, choosing the right level of abstraction to move fast without unnecessary complexity.
  • Champion Best Practices – Ensure code is clean, maintainable, and well-tested, with a strong focus on CI/CD, observability, and automation to keep deployments seamless and reliable.
  • Cloud-Native Mindset – Work with Azure and modern cloud tools and services to deploy and manage applications efficiently, optimising for performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Thrive in a Fast-Paced Environment – Adapt quickly, deliver solutions pragmatically, and find ways to reduce time-to-value without sacrificing engineering excellence.

What We’d Love to See

  • Full Stack Experience – Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript on the frontend and Python/Go on the backend, building and shipping real-world applications end-to-end.
  • Cloud & Infrastructure experience – Familiarity with Azure (or AWS/GCP) and experience deploying and managing applications in a cloud-native environment, with experience in CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform a plus), and observability tools.
  • Delivering at Speed – A track record of shipping products fast, making pragmatic trade-offs, and iterating quickly based on user feedback.
  • Startup Mindset – You thrive in fast-moving environments, are comfortable with ambiguity, and can adapt quickly as priorities evolve.
  • Development Best Practices – Passion for clean, maintainable, and testable code, with experience in test automation, observability, and performance monitoring.
  • Working with Data – Comfortable working with databases like PostgreSQL and handling data-driven application development.
  • Collaboration & Problem-Solving – Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Commercial teams to bring ideas to life.
  • Pragmatic & Impact-Driven – You balance speed with technical debt and make trade-offs that optimise for impact. You know when to hack together an MVP and when to engineer for the long term.

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If InsurX uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines.
