Commercial Account Manager (Contract) in London

Job Description An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Account Manager to join a successful and growing commercial insurance team based in London. This is a varied, client-focused role where you'll manage your own portfolio of commercial insurance clients, delivering exceptional service across renewals, new business and mid-term adjustments. You'll build long-term relationships with clients and insurers, providing expert advice and ensuring the highest standards of customer care. As a senior member of the team, you'll also provide technical support to colleagues where required, share best practice and work collaboratively with Account Executives and insurers to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients. There are no formal line management responsibilities, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial Account Handler or Account Manager looking to broaden their technical involvement whilst remaining focused on client relationships. Working closely with senior management, you'll contribute to maintaining high service standards, operational excellence and continued client retention within a collaborative and supportive environment. Client Relationship Management Manage a portfolio of commercial insurance clients across a diverse range of industries. Handle renewals, new business enquiries, mid-term adjustments and day-to-day account servicing. Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the client lifecycle. Identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships through cross-selling and account development. Ensure high levels of client retention through proactive account management. Renewals & Account Servicing Produce accurate client documentation within agreed service levels. Work closely with Account Executives to deliver tailored insurance solutions. Handle technical referrals and support complex commercial risks where required. Technical Support & Team Collaboration Provide guidance on complex commercial risks and policy wordings. Share best practice and technical knowledge across the commercial team. Support colleagues during busy renewal periods where appropriate. Work collaboratively to ensure excellent client outcomes and service delivery. Compliance & Quality Maintain accurate client records and policy documentation. Adhere to internal processes and quality standards. Demonstrate a strong commitment to regulatory compliance and customer outcomes. Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and client service. Previous experience within Commercial Insurance Account Handling or Account Management. Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of commercial insurance products. Experience managing commercial renewals, new business and client portfolios. Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills. Excellent organisational and time management skills. High attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Experience supporting colleagues with technical queries.
