Discover the satisfaction of an impactful and highly rewarding financial planning role which could be key to your fulfilling career path. This is the perfect opportunity for a talented, skilled and dynamic chartered financial planner who wants to be part of an exciting Midlands success story. All you need is your expertise and a driving commitment to helping your clients achieve their financial goals whilst helping them navigate an increasingly complex financial landscape.
As a Chartered Financial Planner, your role will be pivotal, being the lead advisor within a dynamic, friendly and highly professional financial services team. You and your team will be guiding individuals and families as they make the crucial financial decisions that will impact their lives. In return, you’ll get the satisfaction of building trust with them and positively impacting their financial futures.
Your key responsibilities will involve efficiently and effectively advising local clients, often building on generations of successful relationships. Much of your work will arise from the firm’s legal work. Your core focus will be providing investment advice, alongside some involvement in protection work. You will also gain considerable direct exposure to advising trust clients.
Your passion for excellence in client service will be instrumental, along with a commitment to the highest professional standards and ethical conduct, so you will ensure all advice and processes comply with regulatory standards and internal policies. There is significant potential for personal progression – as well as actively contributing to the development of the Financial Services department (in alignment with the firm’s overall business plan and marketing strategy). You will be supported by a highly experienced administrator and the Head of Department - an experienced solicitor with a considerable financial services background.
This is your opportunity to join a well-established and progressive firm of solicitors and financial advisors with deep roots across the East Midlands, particularly Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. For over 150 years, the firm has earned an exceptional reputation, enjoying high levels of client satisfaction in the communities they serve through an unwavering commitment to excellence and client satisfaction. Providing exceptional standards of comprehensive legal and financial expertise to local individuals, the firm’s expertise extends over a wide range of work including financial services, private client services (wills, trusts, probate, powers of attorney and mental capacity), property services, and family law. Exemplifying the highest professional standards, the firm holds a coveted Practice Management Accreditation.
Ideally, you will be a Chartered Financial Planner with strong local connections to Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire. You’ll bring a genuinely client-focused approach, committed to delivering outstanding service. To truly thrive in the role, you’ll also have a proactive and progressive mindset, eager to contribute to departmental growth and innovation. You should bring a solid hands-on track record of providing comprehensive, client-centric financial planning and investment advice to a diverse client base. This will include proven expertise in conducting rigorous financial reviews and risk assessments, and preparing detailed financial plans. You will also need to demonstrate proactivity in identifying and advising on suitable investment strategies and protection solutions. A strong understanding of, and practical experience in, advising on trusts is highly desirable.
A consummate communicator and networker, you will be adept in building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships – particularly those generated from internal referrals. You’ll also need to be an innate team player, able to collaborate closely with the firm's legal teams to identify and service clients with integrated legal and financial needs. You should be proficient in modern financial planning software packages for research, cashflow modelling, and report writing; and be familiar with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and digital dictation systems.
This is your chance to be a part of a firm that values its team and nurtures a collaborative and supportive environment. In addition to a highly competitive salary package, reflecting your experience and expertise, you can expect an attractive range of benefits, including:
- Death in Service benefit equivalent to two times salary.
- Pension contributions in accordance with statutory requirements.
- 33 days paid annual leave per annum (inclusive of Bank Holidays).
- Opportunity for one week's discretionary unpaid leave per annum.
- Clear pathways for professional progression and career development.
This is an office-based role, working out of offices across their highly connected offices in some of the East Midlands’ most historic and dynamic locations.
