This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Commercial Account Executive who loves developing business through relationships, referrals and networking. You'll join a highly established specialist commercial insurance broker with more than 50 years of heritage and an excellent reputation within its markets.

They are looking for an account executive who can become an important, visible and trusted figure within the business and its markets. The backing, reputation and opportunities are already there. What could you build from them? Start with an established portfolio, you'll initially take responsibility for an established commercial portfolio generating approximately £200,000 in income, giving you meaningful client relationships from day one. From there, the opportunity is to develop.

This isn't a traditional new-business role. Business is predominantly generated through referrals, recommendations, networking and established industry relationships. The leads and opportunities are there for you to capitalise on. You'll have the backing to identify and pursue opportunities - whether that's attending an industry event, developing relationships with trade organisations, networking, working with introducers or identifying an area of the market with growth potential. You'll win new clients but, importantly, you'll continue managing and developing those relationships for the long term.

If you already have commercial insurance experience this could provide an excellent platform to develop those relationships with the backing of an established specialist broker. Ideally, you'll bring good cross-class commercial insurance experience across areas such as:

  • Commercial Property
  • Employers' & Public Liability
  • Goods in Transit
  • Commercial Motor / Fleet

You'll receive specialist training around the removals and storage sectors, alongside ongoing technical and development support. Acturis experience would be beneficial but isn't essential, as training can be provided.

The person we're looking for is someone motivated, commercially driven and relationship-led. You'll enjoy getting out into your market, meeting people, attending events, developing introductions and spotting opportunities. You don't necessarily need to arrive with an established network – what matters is your ability and desire to build one. Over time, you'll have the opportunity to become a go-to insurance contact within your market – someone clients and industry contacts know, trust and recommend.

Strong support behind you, you'll have an experienced support team based in Surrey, alongside on-site underwriting capability and in-house claims support. This gives you the technical and servicing infrastructure to spend meaningful time where you add the greatest value – with clients, prospects and your market.

Location: There is flexibility around where the right person could be based within the UK. Being within reach of the Surrey office would be advantageous, particularly initially for training and development. Longer term, your working week could combine home working, office touch-points, client visits, networking and industry events across the UK. You'll need to drive and be comfortable travelling and hold a UK driving licence.

Benefits & Rewards:

  • Highly competitive basic salary
  • Circa £500 per month car allowance
  • Bonus/commission
  • Annual discretionary bonus
  • Business expenses covered
  • Hybrid/flexible working
  • Inherit an established £200,000 income portfolio
  • Warm, referral-led opportunities – no reliance on cold calling
  • Specialist sector and Acturis training
  • Experienced Account Handling, claims and technical support
  • Backing to attend networking and industry events
